• To commission book titles in the chemical sciences in accordance with the agreed strategic plans in order that the RSC has a financially viable and scientifically coherent books publishing programme; to exploit the existing book programme (back list). • To select reviewers, evaluate their comments and assess projects for publication, communicating with authors and reviewers with due tact and maintenance of confidentiality.• To negotiate agreements with authors and editors to agreed guidelines.• To monitor the demands of market forces and advise the Publisher/Senior Commissioning Editor of future trends in all areas to ensure that the RSC takes full advantage of all business opportunities.• To advise authors of RSC policy relating to publication issues.

- Author Liaison:Act as the first point of contact for Editors and Authors for any queries they may have during the typescript preparation and delivery.- Post publication Work:Conduct post-publication work for titles: sending copies for review, arranging complimentary copies for distribution to Editors/Authors, and to maintain appropriate records of this.- Administrative Duties:Ensuring regular communication with Commissioning Team regarding their projects.- Managing shared inboxes.Schedule and manage the Books meetings, including preparing and circulating documentation in advance, taking minutes and ensuring accurate records are kept.- Data Integrity:To enter project information into the Books’ database taking responsibility for data accuracy/integrity.And other additional duties for example:Proactively seek possible improvement to processes.

∙ Undertaking interviews with people who have tested positive for Covid-19 to identify their contacts and provide isolation advice. ∙ Handling inbound and outbound calls with professionalism, empathy and self-assurance. ∙ Performing regular consumer searches on CMS system database to manage case load, both for myself and other contact tracers. ∙ Writing case reports summarizing interview completed with positive case, identifying high risk areas, red flags and detailing chronological timeline of activities during infectious period. ∙ Liaising with team leads for updates on guidance, OH forms, procedures and training.

∙ Researching the management of bio-waste in Europe, with special attention to the experiences in the Basque Country and Catalonia with systems of selective collection of organic matter, either door to-door or intelligent container. ∙ Designing the Environmental Management in Andalusia course for the Spanish American Institute of International Education, involving a programme of technical visits to local companies, volunteer activities and nature tourism.∙ Moderating at the 2019 Ibero-American Meeting of Young Leaders of the Social and Solidarity Economy in Málaga.

∙ Analysing the characteristics of the water and sediments of the Ulla River during three different seasons to produce a significant report on water quality. ∙ Managing and manipulating large volumes of in-situ and laboratory data. ∙ Communicating and choreographing with a dedicated team of scientists to accommodate individual ideas and hypotheses. ∙ Managing the continued progress of the project, planning for experiments, resource availability and budget. ∙ Developing laboratory skills such as UV Spec, methods of water and wastewater examination, acid digestion and metal extraction, as well as analytical chromatography methods.
