About Matthew Carlson

After 18 years in the software industry I set my focus on more altruistic goals and became a social entrepreneur by founding the non-profit Fix It Forward Ministry. This unique non profit utilizes volunteers and charitable donations to not only fix cars for the neediest in our community, but also refurbish donated cars and give them away as well. After leaving my software gig at Microsoft to focus on this full time I was able to drive significant growth in the organization. With that growth brought new challenges including running out of space, insurability issues and a business model that made it difficult to expand into other communities. I founded Fix it Forward Auto Care to solve those issues. Fix it Forward is customer focused automotive repair shop that exists solely to enable Fix It Forward Ministry by providing shop, office and storage space, insurance and a business model that will enable us to expand our works into other communities.
