I come from a family firmly involved with the motor industry, with relatives based in Coventry having completed successful careers within the motor vehicle industry, specifically their skills ranged from Design Engineer for Jaguar, Test Engineer and Production Engineer for Triumph. From this background I have inherited my natural engineering interest, skills and ability.From an early age i have read books and watched documentaries relating to anything engineering based; aircraft, boats or cars, always reinforcing my interest and knowledge. From an age of 15 i have had my own metalworking workshop in which I have been machining a work in progress model steam traction engine. For a GCSE product design project, I designed and built a working model steam engine using the facilities of the school workshop. Other notable home projects include buying/selling/restoring classic cars, such as a Hillman Minx and Rover P4. This has given me a basic engineering intuition from its most basic, hands on level, from which I continue to build and develop myself.
