A native Texan, I grew up watching my parents serve our local community with dedication. My dad is a salesman and my mom's a social worker. I always wanted to discover how the world works and later on I got to be the first American physicist to be Newton Fellow in the Royal Society. The Royal Society was founded more than 350 years ago by King Charles II.I've been honored to teach at places like Oxford and hold positions named for the great American patriot, Nobel laureate and founder of the national labs Ernest Lawrence. I came up with fusion theories, helping lay the foundation for commercial laser fusion systems.Over the last few years, I founded and led NobleAI, a science start-up based in San Francisco, California. With my leadership, Noble flourished from idea to robust organization, assembling a Microsoft agreement and accepting significant investments from M12, Chevron Technology Ventures, and others. Its CEO today is ex-Intel and its Board of Directors has experience at Motorola, VMWare and Microsoft. Now as founder and general partner at AE Blue Capital, I bring my science expertise, entrepreneurial capability, and curiosity and values to advanced energy investing. We invest in companies that are rooted in ancient systems, like fusion energy that powers our sun, to help people reach the stars.
