About Matthew Cox

Once I realized my aspirations of winning tennis Grand Slams were way out of reach, I took that same competitive spirit and determination and found my professional passion…building and cultivating brands. I am currently focused on brand management and strategy within the interactive entertainment & gaming landscape as the SVP / General Manager for Call of Duty at Activision. In this role, I set the overall go-to-market strategy for the brand's annual premium and free-to-play business operations globally, and collaborate closely with a variety of cross-functional teams and our development studios to drive strategic initiatives across the franchise.Throughout my tenure at Activision, I’ve had the honor of working on a diverse lineup of brands and have led teams to exceptional results, including record-breaking launches for Guitar Hero, Skylanders, Destiny the Game, and Call of Duty. Most recently, I helped deliver record-breaking engagement for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty overall as the best-selling console video game franchise in the U.S. for the 15th consecutive year.Prior to Activision, I was on the agency side of the business with Catapult Marketing where I helped drive targeted marketing promotions for a variety of high-tier CPG brands including Pedigree, Sunbeam, and Dole. I received my MBA with Beta Gamma Sigma honors from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California and my BS degree from Santa Clara University.
