I’ve always enjoyed art and science, because we are bound by both logic and emotion. That is one of the facets of design I find most intriguing. The pull between what someone says, versus their actual behavior. And how beauty and functionality combine to create a better whole. I’ve had the pleasure of working with companies that aspire to bring those things together, which has resulted in innovative work. I’ve designed apps across iOS, Android, Fire TV, Apple TV, and Chromecast, that saw a 146% increase in live streaming views. I’ve created responsive sites that took into account the users differing needs across devices and I’ve created interactive prototypes using Framer. As a user experience consultant I designed a platform that eased communication issues between client and customer while fostering a sense of community. And for some industry fun I participated in hack-a-thons, involving virtual reality and artificial intelligence.In my free time I continue to learn about interaction design, user experience design, new technologies and frontiers of design like voice ui, and AR/VR. I enjoy reading non-fiction and science fiction, photography, and watching PBS Space Time.

I worked closely with user experience design, business, and developer teams to ensure the design met the user and client needs. My general responsibilities were creating/refining the visual design language, ensuring consistency, creating style guides, playbooks, creating assets for developers when needed, and quality assurance.- NBC Universal - Designed NBC, USA, Syfy and other NBCU Now apps for Android devices, Fire TV, and iOS. There were 6 brand rollouts (for Android) across all viewports, and developer support. There was a 66% increase in app downloads and 146% increase in live streaming views.- Les Schwab - Created a responsive website that took into account the user’s needs and how those differences were designed for across desktop, tablet, and mobile. I also used Framer to create an interactive prototype. The design increased engagement by 45% , had a 26% boost in sales from online appointments, and 44% increase in store locator usage.- AI Hackathon - Created NUTRIAiDE which is a smart food companion app that decreases the barrier to establishing eating habits that are healthier for the individual and the environment. The working prototype integrated Computer Vision and ML with live data from USDA to provide a personalized nutrition score for products. The team plans to integrate environmental impact data and multi-object product comparisons.- VR Hackathon - I helped to create a functioning VR prototype we named SEEK. Through a series of action-based “tests,” we developed a personality quiz. There were 5 games in all. -
