I have taken on the role of Engineering Maintenance Systems Planning Manager at Tyseley Depot. Producing a Maintenance plan in conjunction with internal stakeholders to ensure the efficient use of maintenance depot facilities. Allocating staff to tasks and ensuring that depot space is maximised and staff utility is high. Working with the timetable plan I have to ensure that multiple unit down time is utilised to maintain, update and clean units for the daily serviceOther Achievements: • Working on linking planned unit down time with period cleaning regime• Provide performance data for depot manager period report • Assisting the implementation of the equinox management system • Oversaw the handover of the Leamington Spa Cleaning operation • Helped co-ordinate the close out of class 150 unit issues prior to the units re-deployment • Brief the depot cleaning team on technical particulars of the new class 172 units

Part of the Service Delivery Management team assisting in the successful delivery of the SRO Contract. With a budget of £3 million I was responsible for the procurement and performance of all SRO’s operational 3rd party suppliers. Along with large savings of £600k from the efficient management of these resources, I also drove 3rd party performance resulting in a decrease in the number of shifts affected by over 70%. Other success to date has been the improved utilisation of internal resources with SRO drivers being more productive in driving trains that ever before. By cutting out needless training and focusing on core requirements I have not only saved driver man hours but also enhanced driver’s core route knowledge to be more flexible to the contract and general operation of the services. More recently I have led the team through the change in employer to Network Rail. This change was driven by the high performing nature of the team and Network rails desire to import the skills base of the team members.

Supporting the Planning and performance Director I was responsible for day to day operation Serco Rail Operations train planning team. I was central to implementing a strategic change in the way SRO services where planned, ensuring SRO became the only TOC in the UK to time and validate its own train services. This led to the enhancing of shift delivery and ensuring more productive work was undertaken per shift. I also assisted in the strategic change of 3rd party suppliers that resulted in significantly better performance and succeeded in driving down costs.
