The era of Health Convergence is upon us. With healthcare comprising roughly 1/5 of the US economy, most estimates pegging the level of waste in the range of 35% and the population it serves experiencing declining public health metrics (e.g. healthy baby birthrates), incumbents and new entrants alike are attracted to the scale of the opportunity for improvement both in economic and social terms. At the moment over 60% of the fortune 100 companies who weren't historically health industry incumbents have made multi-billion dollar investments in the health market place. New scale players from within health (e.g. CVS) are on the move extending their footprints up and down the value chain from payer, to PBM, Retail Pharmacy and even medical provision. It is not surprising, therefor, that companies and executives are struggling to find and build the relevant cross-industry capabilities and leadership they need to succeed in this new converged world. We live in an era that challenges the relevance of prior experience. Doing something successfully the same way 15 times before no longer ensures that the 16th will benefit from the same approach. In fact, doing things the way they’ve always been done before is most certainly a sign that you’re not seeing the full picture as to what's possible in opportunity or threat. This is true across industries, across the globe and now, finally, true across the health spectrum. The solutions landscape in front of us today is unlike anything we’ve seen before. We’re solving problems we’ve never attempted to solve before and innovating with technologies like AI and robotics, at a pace that was previously unheard of. Our companies and markets are evolving faster than they have in the past and yet slower than they will in the future. It's an exciting time that holds much promise but it is also a challenging time that must be met with new ideas and a fresh consideration of what the future brings. I bring a rich and diverse set of career experiences from across the full spectrum of the health landscape to help bring about the innovation that will transform how incumbents and new entrants alike succeed and ultimately how we all live. Deeply experienced in the North American and European markets I have also lived and worked in China and across the APAC region.Outside of work you can find me enjoying the beauty and community of the Lake Tahoe area; from hiking and cycling to skiing and wake-surfing. I’m a bit of a foodie and traveler and I’m always eager to swap recommendations on new places to try.

President And CcoGrokit Data Oct 2023 - PresentBy creating the world's first smart network (the Paranet), Grokit is enabling the much needed transition from distributed information to distributed intelligence. With CPU's now outnumbering humans 50:1 and scaling exponentially, we need a network that enables collaboration of primarily machine to machine skills at a pace, efficiency and scale heretofore impossible to achieve with current network constructs. Whether deployed as the next level of the internet (the 8th layer of the OSI stack; the collaboration layer), as a full end-to-end smart enterprise integration or in service to specialized vertical solutions the Paranet will bring significant advantages in the ease, cost and speed of deployment, and scalability. As the first persistent language where all interactions are recorded it will also bring significant advantages in durability and automatic optimization over time. With the technology built and the IP filed, Grokit is now in commercial phase and working with strong global channel partners to deploy across industries. -
