How can we improve service? That is the question I ask myself every day when I walk into my facility as an Operations Industrial Engineer. In my first year at the United States Post Office I have co-led a Kaizen that reduced 50% of rejected volume to our air networks, saved over $100k perpetually in transportation costs with my Green Belt project, and work every day with plant managers, supervisors, and floor employees to create daily effective solutions for our facility. In year 2 I was promoted to be the Acting Manager of Distribution Operations where I managed 10 salaried employees, and 250 union employees at the Jacksonville NDC, an 850 square foot warehouse.Currently I have been promoted to as an Logistics Operations Industrial Engineer all sites in Florida, Alabama, and Puerto Rico. In my short time with Logistics I have saved 3 million dollars in transportation costs for the Jacksonville NDC, redesigned the transportation network for the Mid-Florida P&DC resulting in 700,00 dollars in transportation savings, and perform root cause analysis daily with division directors to make critical decisions for any logistical issue in the Gulf Atlantic Division.Furthermore my drive to solve problems carried me through my schooling at the University of Florida where I graduated cum laude and developed my skills as an engineer. I am always eager to learn and have picked up many tools throughout my career such as: Visual Basic Applications, Visio, Minitab, R Studio, and AutoCAD. I look forward to utilizing my skills gained from my time as an engineer at the USPS, coupled with my classroom knowledge to create effective and efficient processes to take my career to the next level.
