Prior to this I managed the enterprise segment teams responsible for the automation of device imaging for restaurants as well as the in-store deployment, configuration, upgrade, and support of Aloha POS in over 100k restaurants internationally.

I implemented, supported, and led strategic IoT projects for AWS customers as part of the AWS Professional Services Global Specialty Practice for IoT Data, while also liaising with the AWS Service teams in order to adapt and scale AWS products to customer needs. In this role, I ran on-site customer workshops to advise on IoT/Data Lake strategy, followed up these workshops with consulting engagements, and worked with AWS service teams to change, test, and improve our services at IoT Scale (Billion+ events per hour). I also led a portion of my team’s efforts towards creating a standardized global area of depth curriculum for upskilling and onboarding new IoT specialists, actively mentored multiple architects who were specializing in IoT Data, and assisted in the publication of content online and at conferences as a member of AWS’s IoT Technical Feedback Community.

I took on a variety of roles as a member of the Data Engine Platform team, which spanned from utilizing distributed computing and graph databases to handle massive tax computations, managing our database and message schema migrations, building cloud-native RESTful web services, dynamically generating websites through JSON configurations, containerizing applications and big data clusters onto Docker and Kubernetes, to becoming the subject matter expert on stream processing, event sourcing, and Scala. In addition, I gave a tech talk at UT Austin in 2017, where I introduced the Akka toolkit and how it simplifies distributed computing through the use of the Actor Model.◦ Slides and code links: bit.ly/utakka

I began the summer as part of a 2 person team developing a runtime configurable content management system. My initial role involved transforming the front end from Java Server Pages (JSP) into AngularJS and building import/export functionality into the server side of our application. After completing these tasks, the project went into production, two additional interns joined our team, and I was made team lead for the project. My team and I then raised the unit test coverage by over 66%, rearchitected our Spring-boot server to a DDD structure, upgraded the web API to be a level 2 RESTful API, and containerized the application for deployment into AWS.

Worked in a three-person team in a SCRUM environment while developing hybrid mobile applications such as a contest voting application, administrative website, and prototyping an asset tracking application for a greenfield product using AngularJS within the Ionic framework.
