Adaptability, a desire to learn and try new things, and implement change have allowed me to grow my experiences, enhance my career, and have a lot of fun along the way. I was a dairy farmer for eight years and then decided to make a change. My wife and I packed up our four young sons and moved to Rochester, NY where I earned my MBA from the University of Rochester. I was fortunate to get an internship with Xerox at their “skunk works” between my first and second year of graduate school. Upon graduation I worked for a small manufacturing company in upstate New York and then joined the plastics division of Mobil Chemical where I was part of the team that brought the Hefty zip lock bag to market. Opportunities as a controller opened up, so the family moved to Illinois and then to Georgia. At that point we decided to stay put.I joined a Dutch owned company and had the opportunity to work with people in Europe, learn about currency variances, bring an inexperienced staff up to speed, and finish the implementation of an ERP system. During my tenure with this company I was offered the position of Vice President of Operations and jumped at the chance. I was in the thick of it. I worked hard and with the help and support of all those in the plant, we made a lot of changes, improvements, and grew the plant. I would later return to Vice President of Finance, where I spent the balance of my years with the company. I then accepted the role as CFO of a Swedish subsidiary in the software and hardware systems business. While a lot of my finance and accounting skills were transferable, I had to learn about revenue recognition, maintenance agreements, GSA schedules, and subcontractor agreements. As always, I was broadening my experience, learning new things, adding skills, and helping companies grow. I am ready to go to work for your company.
