Matthew is a finance and technology executive with over 15 years of domestic and international experience in operational cyber security and corporate finance. Prior to co-founding Lumifi, Matthew was a Vice President at Columbus Nova MB – a boutique investment firm – where he focused on private equity and credit investments in special situations and distressed opportunities. While at Columbus Nova, he also advised on numerous client engagements, including various M&A mandates in the technology sector and the successful cross-border restructuring of a $1Bn publicly listed firm in Zurich, Switzerland.He began his career as a Cyber Security Analyst for the City of Charlotte. In this role, he managed security for an organization with over 7,000 employees and a diverse footprint of over 100 different physical locations. While working for the City of Charlotte, Matthew was responsible for the deployment and management of cybersecurity systems, incident response, intelligence collection and analysis, active threat hunting, and security policy development. Additionally, Matthew was the lead intelligence analyst for the City during the 2012 Democratic National Convention, led a migration to next-gen firewalls, and successfully deployed forensic analysis software across the organization’s entire footprint. Matthew holds an MBA from Wake Forest University and a Bachelor of Science degree (Computer Science) from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He was previously designated a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
