I have grown up in North San Diego County, and am actually a fifth generation Carlsbadian. I graduated in 2001 from the University of San Diego with a degree in Philosophy and Theological Studies. Once completing my undergraduate work, I followed in my father's footsteps by beginning my teaching credential program through National University. I completed my student teaching work at El Camino Creek Elementary School in Encinitas, and was quickly hired by an Encinitas private school, Encinitas Country Day School. I have been working at Encinitas Country Day School as their lead sixth grade teacher since the 2008 school year. I was honored to receive the school's "Teacher of the Year" award in the 2010-2011 school year. I have also worked as one of the co-chairs for the school's WASC accreditation team, and in doing so, helped the school achieve full WASC accreditation in the 2012-2013 school year. In 2015, I completed a masters degree in educational administration with an emphasis in technology through SDSU and SDCOE (San Diego County Office of Education). With my masters degree completed, I was offered the opportunity to help build the middle school at ECDS as the Director of Middle School.I live in Encinitas, California with my wife, Teresa, and two incredible children, Ella and Curran. Ella is an amazing 11-year-old who is beginning to push herself into some amazing things like dance, snorkeling, and surfing. Curran is nine and has become a fantastic little soccer player and is currently playing for the competitive organization LA Galaxy San Diego. My wife is a professional photographer whose business continues to grow because of her incredible talent and hard work. She shoots for a couple local magazines including 92024 and Del Sol, and is also one of the founding members of Leucadia Photoworks.
