Responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and improving manufacturing processes, methods, and controls in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Troubleshoots production issues to determine root cause and corrective actions. Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products. Supports production to drive success in key performance indicators. Specifies tooling requirements and manages tooling implementation projects. Recommend, justify, and implement new manufacturing equipment.

Supervises and coordinates the activities and personnel of theManufacturing Engineering department, which includes support fornew launch development and day-to-day technical issues for theassembly process in the plant with a focus on scrap and downtimereduction.1. Assigns, supervises, and evaluates the work of the manufacturing engineers and manufacturing engineering technicians2. Provides leadership and guidance within the department for the support of new product launch teams3. Coordinates the timely input of the BOM/routings, and helps to ensure that production rates and machine cycle times are available for input for all new products per the established project plan4. Assists in planning for adequate floor space for assembly line location, storage, and work-in-process (WIP), as well as in the preparation of materials/product flow plans5. Assists in the preparation of Process Failure Mode and Effect Analyses (PFMEA), Process Design Sheets, Process Flow Diagrams, and other Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities6. Coordinates and/or participates in all continuous improvement activities within area of responsibility, and ensures participation of direct reports these activities, as needed7. Assists in the management of the department, as well as in the development of annual departmental goals, headcount, and budgets8. Supports and overseas department KPIs as established by management, and makes recommendations concerning scrap and downtime reduction in order to help meet the KPI goals9. Evaluates departmental training needs, schedules employees for training, and/or conducts the training of manufacturing engineers and manufacturing engineering technicians in accordance with their overall responsibilities within the department10. Stays current with the latest manufacturing processes, techniques, and technologies

Plan, design, and implement assembly processes/lines, ensure new product designs can be manufactured, and maintain the assembly processes in production.Maximizing efficiency by analyzing assembly line layouts, workflow, assembly methods, change-over-fixturing, gauges, work-in-process (WIP) storage, and tool storage. Develop Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) requirements, including Process Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (PFMEA), Process Flow Charts, and Process Design Sheets. Identification of Value Engineering/Value Analysis (VE/VA) ideas and standard parts to be implemented into new product designs, Bill of Materials Creation, Bill of Materials Maintenance.
