For more than a decade I've been a video technician in a business that seems to evolve by the day. Just keeping up has meant being able to move seamlessly from logging single DigiBeta tapes to shepherding complex file systems with hundreds of video files or more. From cutting slugs and slate for broadcast to bulk processing so as to insert chyrons, advertisements and branding on files for immediate worldwide distribution. By remaining product-focused I've not only survived, but been constantly energized and engaged. Supplying a technically superior product and delivering it more efficiently is self-evidently rewarding, whether I helped establish a system or simply utilized one to do so. Because I love this business as a whole, it's easy for me to stay focused through the tasks that some find tedious or mundane. Even after a whole day ushering content to distribution, I'm likely to go watch the same episode or film at home, rapt. It's a passion, one that I happily transfer to technical or organizational work because it genuinely brings me joy and calm.
