I began my career in January 2020 at an all-USA-made apparel startup, navigating a rapidly evolving landscape of domestic manufacturing marked by factory closures and supply chain disruptions. These challenges demanded swift adaptation and resilience. We responded by pivoting to mask production, repurposing raw materials into innovative products, and implementing innovative cost-saving methods that significantly boosted product demand and operational efficiency.My experience as a collegiate rower instilled a deep appreciation for teamwork—understanding that success relies on every member's contribution. This perspective shaped my approach to overcoming obstacles and optimizing work. For instance, I reduced ordering timelines from over 40 hours to just 4, and then I went on to train colleagues to optimize workflows and effectively use software, which enhanced overall productivity. By fostering cooperation, communication, and data sharing, I also contributed to decreasing raw material waste by over 30% and reducing operational costs by 40% through better management of minimum order quantities. These achievements reinforced my skills as a collaborative problem-solver.Inspired by these experiences, I pursued a master’s degree in Geography with a focus on Environment, Politics, and Society. This academic journey allowed me to explore how sustainable practices intersect and interact with business strategy, government policy, and societal impact. My dissertation, which examined flooding and politics, involved collaboration with city planners, civil engineers, hydrologists, and local stakeholders. This work deepened my understanding of environmental challenges and underscored the critical role of partnerships in developing effective solutions today and tomorrow.I am now eager to leverage my professional and academic background in roles focused on business sustainability and strategic innovation.
