My responsibilities at my current position involve managing a network composed of the following technologies: VMware hosted Windows Server 2019 and Microsoft Azure domain, MS365 email and applications, UniFi wireless and routing, Dell switching, FreePBX VoIP, Dell Windows Workstations, Muratec and HP printers and a GoDaddy hosted Wordpress website. This is only the IT side of my work; I am also responsible for working in the shop and on set, when necessary, especially when programming PLCs for large SPFX assemblies (turntables, treadmills, airbags) are required. I wear many hats day-to-day, but I enjoy the challenge, as I’m able to exercise my creativity in addition to my technical acumen.

As an IT Systems Engineer for an IT Managed Service Provider, my responsibilities included being the first point of contact for and managing IT solutions of 40 local small to medium sized businesses and organizations. This involved managing the entire IT stack of each business while working with a team of engineers for support in their areas of specialty (app development, security, storage, etc.). I had to cover the full spectrum of support, from interfacing directly with employees to resolve small problems, all the way to coordinating large projects with upper management and teams of subcontractors. Later, my position evolved into handling more complex issues and projects that specifically involved large virtualization and storage clusters, which had become my area of specialty. This meant dealing more with level 1 IT support than directly with clients as problems were elevated to me. I learned more in this role than I had at any job before, and the long hours and high-stress environment honed my ability to perform under pressure.
