Matthew Epp phone numbers
My career has been somewhat unique and unorthodox. I began my career in Seattle as amechanical engineer designing HVAC, piping and plumbing systems. Due to life changes Ireturned to Wyoming and continued designing HVAC, piping and plumbing . Because of the nature of Wyoming business, there wasn’t a consistently strong demand for thosetypes of designs so I cross trained in civil engineering. Eventually my career focused exclusivelyon civil engineering work.I sat for the Mechanical PE in 2003 and then for the Civil PE in 2007. Later Wyoming changedfrom a discipline specific PE to a general PE so I combined the licenses into 1 in 2016.In 2011, I accepted a position with Halliburton as a Well planner/ engineer. I had peaked at thecivil firm I was working at and the oil field was something new and challenging to me. After 2years as a designer, I was offered a position as a directional driller, working in the field and aconsiderable raise. As exciting and fun as this work was it was also unpredictable and tumultuous. There were periodsof continuous work followed by periods of no work. The initial salary bump soon was short livedand the wages were continuously reduced to about 50% of what they were when I started. Thetime away from home was no longer justified with the lowered salary and it is time to return to myroots and resume my engineering career. My wife and I have been planning our return to Alaska for years and with the graduation of ouryoungest child, we are moving. We have family in Anchorage and they have room for me to staywith them once I’m hired. My wife will join me after the house has been sold and then we’ll findpermanent housing.Because of my twisting and winding career, i have a wide amount of experience, however Ihaven’t been working as an engineer for a few years. For these reasons I am seeking a mid levelposition to start, something above a starting position, but not a senior position.
