I man the Western Physical Security Operations Center (WPSOC) located at the Alabama Power Headquarters. I am qualified in both the classroom and on the range to be an Armed Corporate Security officer (pistol). I conduct access control measures for the corporate headquarters for one of the largest utility companies in the country, performing escort duties for visitors, guests and employees as well as responding to on site events, alarms and emergencies. I monitor substation activity and assess and respond to related alarms to ensure the security of the power grid. I will be working with a team to develop a drone security program within the company. Am proficient with Avigilon and CCURE software systems and monitor CCTV footage using both. Work with radar, analytic and physical alarm systems.

As an armed nuclear security officer, I have qualified on the shooting range and with written coursework to maintain qualifications. I have passed extensive psychological and background checks to obtain a security clearance and work with security sensitive information, technology and equipment on a daily basis. I am a member of the Contingency Adversary Team for Southern Company and passed additional physical and training qualifications to earn this role. As a member of the CAT team, I help to plan and simulate attacks on our protected sites to help strengthen the sites' defensive strategies. I have worked a 12 hour swing shift in this position and have been a reliable and efficient employee.

I interacted positively with management, patrons and guests to maintain a safe environment while not hindering the work/guest space. I worked as a mobile patrol and drove a company vehicle overnight to multiple businesses across the metro Atlanta area to ensure that there were no break ins, vagrants, or suspicious activity while also checking on other employees to ensure they are doing their jobs. I worked under my own supervision and held other employees accountable. I also worked as location security. I made regular rounds and monitored security cameras and ensured security for the property as well as all those inside without hindering the work environment. I worked as compliance officer, acting as a supervisor while independently commuting from site to site ensuring company employees are in compliance with company and site rules and expectations. I also worked as an armed security officer. I qualified in the classroom and on the range for my armed security certification.

I worked as an Individualized Student Support Paraprofessional at Ola Middle School in McDonough, GA. At Ola Middle School, I entered the classroom as a long-term substitute teacher in an 8th grade English class. I had to lead the classroom while maintaining the learning environment during the teacher's absence. I worked with other department members to lesson plan and adapt lessons for each class based on performances and disseminated the daily course work in a manner that allowed for positive and successful student performance. I attended parent/teacher meetings, collaborative content meetings, and grade-level meetings. I was offered the position as a paraprofessional after the teacher I substituted for returned. At this position I helped adapt coursework for special needs students in the classroom. This included offering more in-depth explanations on course work, adapting course work for student’s specific needs, offering small-group testing, and helping students overcome disabilities that would otherwise hinder their learning. One class out of the day I worked individually with a highly challenged student to help him integrate into a normal learning environment. In both of these positions I helped to maintain and support the working environment for both students and teachers while also gaining important knowledge on classroom and student management as well as situational management.

I trained to be a SERE Specialist in the Battlefield Airman Development Program for 4 months prior to my enlistment. I passed the PST multiple times (1.5 mile run: 8:50, pushups: 56, sit-ups: 64, pull-ups: 14, 200m swim: 3:30), and scored a 92 for the Air Force on the ASVAB. I attended Basic Military Training for 8.5 weeks in San Antonio, TX. Here I learned a multitude of skills such as first aid, counter terror, facility security, personal/operational security, weapons training, as well as personal skills such as accountability, pursuit of excellence, attention to detail, leadership, teamwork, among other things. I graduated BMT as an honor graduate (scored 98 on EOC, 99 on PT) and as an Element leader (student leader) within my Flight. I was discharged during the SERE Instructor selection process after my flight physical due to a disqualifying shoulder injury. I submitted multiple medical waivers that were not approved, and I was then discharged. I have since been cleared of the injury by multiple doctors and have maintained my personal physical fitness. My prior injury has not once hindered performance in either development, BMT or after discharge.
