I am a solicitor with over 20 years of experience of advising on all aspects of private wealth disputes, including will disputes, Inheritance Act claims, disputes arising in equity such as proprietary estoppel claims and court of protection disputes. In that time I have represented individuals, major financial institutions and national charities, including the successful parties in several landmark reported cases, such as Re Edwards (2007, undue influence/fraudulent calumny) and Davies v Davies (2016, Proprietary Estoppel). I have also delivered seminars and lectures on all aspects of private wealth disputes.In my day to day role now, I am head of, and have overall strategic responsibility for, Hugh James's award winning Private Wealth group, which includes:Private Wealth Disputes Trusts and Estates AdministrationWills and Estate PlanningFamily Collectively the above teams comprise 11 partners and legal directors, each with their own teams, across our Cardiff, London and Southampton offices. The teams provide a full range of private wealth services on a national basis to: Individuals, including the customers of a large number of financial institution clients, and the employees of major national employers, including a Big 4 accountancy practiceProfessionals acting in fiduciary roles, including other lawyers and trust corporations Charities All of the solicitors in our teams hold professional accreditations such as STEP and/or ACTAPS and our private client offering is ranked as top tier in both the Legal 500 and Chambers Guide To The Legal Profession, with many of our individual lawyers ranked. Several of our lawyers are also listed in the Spears directory.Our broader private wealth offering includes one of the largest court of protection teams in the UK, offering services out of Cardiff, London, Manchester and Swindon, the UK’s largest nursing care recoveries team, and a dedicated IFA practice. I also sit on the divisional board of management for Hugh James’s Individual Client Services Division as well as the firm’s talent management board.
