Technology And Operations Director / Head Of ProductDenwis Limited Apr 2010 - May 2017This £100m+ group of companies had a wide-ranging portfolio of businesses including Magazine Publishing, TV, Estate Agency, Football, Retail and Property. Brought in to head Digital Transformation across Group and eventually became ‘right hand man’ to the Chairman and oversaw Operations for the Group.• Successfully negotiated purchase of mid-sized Software House and Digital Agency and integrated it into the Group.• Lead the key product (iOS and Android) from 1m installs to over 3.1m with 1bn games played per year primarily down to the direction I took the product in and the deals I negotiated including a commercial agreement with Matchroom Sports which tripled its turnover.• Hired and managed multi-channel software development teams for the existing and new products for this new software division. Developed LAMP, iOS and Android. • Conceived, built and implemented a Group-Wide Task Management and Document Storage System (using primarily .NET, Entity Framework, MSSQL) which created huge efficiency improvements by almost halving the number of face to face meetings needed with SLT. • Increased revenue for existing print Magazine Titles by transforming their online presence (custom Wordpress solution) and creating extra sales opportunities.• Monetised redundant back issues by re-purposing them and creating an online archive. -
Operations DirectorDelivering Digital Ltd Feb 2007 - Mar 2010When Travel TV (see below) became a PLC, co-founded this spin-out company with other industry figures whilst still retaining Travel TV as a client. • Conceived and created software for most of the leading Digital Signage companies in the world as well as advertising companies such as JCDecaux.• Presented to peers at industry events.• Created software that for the first time in the industry meant that digital signage users could add and schedule content to be played across multiple platforms. -
Cto / Programme DirectorVtv / Travel Tv Nov 2004 - Feb 2007When this business split off from Media First (see below), the Chairman asked me to join this television company to lead the technical and creative side. • Increased the value of Gold Medal Travel by £27m on its sale to Thomas Cook PLC. The Travel TV project I lead was developed for Gold Medal Travel as an in-store system for Travel Agents to interact with their customers in-store. This project dramatically increased the sales for GMT in the sites which had the systems. GMT sales in sites without this system were typically in decline.• Revolutionised VTV by linking the in-house financial software to the television playout software to automate the creation of the playlists for each individual site which enabled national advertising and short run advertising campaigns to be sold for the first time. My solution took the manual process of creating a playlist in 40 minutes for each of the 800 sites to an automated solution of under 2 seconds for the entire network. • Conceived and built an Advertising Campaign booking system which Co-Director Nick Milligan, the then Managing Director of Sky Media, described as “better than anything we have at Sky”.• Launched the first international franchise in Australia. Whilst there, helped set-up and recruit sales teams, trained accounts and admin staff as well as SLT.

Although this long-established company turned over millions of pounds, they had no digital offering. • Built the digital side of the business from zero to over 50% of sales.• Lead the development of an in-house financial, CRM and sales package using Epicor’s Clientele which gave the company a competitive edge over competition.• Built eCommerce solutions for numerous clients.
