As a Graduate GIS Analyst for Blackhall & Powis, I continue to build my understanding of Scotland's social and physical landscapes. On a daily basis I leverage the growing potential of Geographical Information Systems to support renewable energy developments across the UK. This includes a range of responsibilities such as using B&P's bespoke approach to modelling for site origination to monitoring impacts of access for onshore wind projects.As part of B&P's offering, we help clients identify land ownership, which has given me the opportunity to gain experience using the Registers of Scotland, Sasines Register and the Crofting Register to make sure the right people are compensated for their involvement in getting the UK closer to Net Zero.As an environmental social scientist, I firmly believe that robust and effective roadmaps for climate change resilience are necessarily interdisciplinary in nature. My research interests are rooted in the social and environmental justice of the Anthropocene. My goal is to apply my skills and experience at the interface between climate-change intervention and the public.In 2022, I completed my MSc in Earth Futures at the University of Glasgow, which looked to the frontiers of Climate Change discourse. In the same year. I worked as a Research Assistant for the British Geological Survey, where I developed a novel flood geospatial database for the Humber catchment area relying on the collaboration of multiple stakeholders.I have spent many years working in private education, teaching both local students and those from abroad. This is where I gained experience as a director for a small tutoring agency called SET2Tutors.In 2018, I co-founded a tutoring start-up based in Johannesburg called SET2Tutors. We grew the company from the ground-up to host up to 30 employees and up to 20 clients to meet the growing need for educational support at a highschool level. My early academic background lies in Psychology with keen interest in Clinical Psychology and Ethnomethodology. During this time I conducted research on feelings of hopelessness and helplessness. Here, I gained experience co-developing, and implementing a community-based intervention for Gender-based Violence in Johannesburg.
