As an intelligence analyst, the most important skill I need is an acute attention to detail. An endless curiosity for all manner of things tends to help as well. There’s nothing more important than cracking every scrap of detail in a situation and presenting that detail in such a way that it makes sense to those who need to understand it, myself included!After six years of experience in the field, my enthusiasm and enjoyment of it has only grown over time. The more I learn, the more I want to expand my area of expertise yet further. I have worked in numerous high-pressure, high-tempo environments throughout my career so far, including overseas deployments, and in each one I learnt something new about the field in which I work.I began my career as an open source analyst. However, since completing the United Kingdom Imagery Analysis Course in 2017, the primary focus of my roles has been imagery analysis and the creation of reports based upon the intelligence that I can draw from it. These reports go on to impact decision making at higher levels of command, including up to governmental level.The work is incredibly rewarding and every bit as interesting as I hoped it would be when I started my career. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities already afforded to me. At this point in my career however, I’m seeking to expand my experience further into the wider world of analysis and see where it takes me.Whilst I currently live in London, I am excited about the possibility of re-locating further afield, including overseas, if the right opportunity presents itself. I am also currently studying German and completing a bachelor’s in Intelligence and International Relations.Outside of the office and academia, I enjoy running, reading, music, travelling whenever possible and spending time with my two annoying dogs and my non-annoying wife.
