I am dedicated to working towards accessible and appropriate mental health care for all. I am seeking opportunities where I can help improve outcomes in mental health, through education, mentorship, counseling, or assisting other health care professionals.As a young adult who has seen mental health disorders affect family and friends close to me, I strive to create an environment where people are not afraid to speak up or seek help. I have been a chat and text volunteer/counselor for the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline for nearly 2 years, and it is a privilege to be able to provide support for others when no one else could. My undergraduate program at UCLA concentrated in Psychobiology has also provided me with a deeper understanding of the neurological effects of mental illnesses, and the prevalent issues plaguing mental health care in the United States today.In addition to seeing the effects of mental illness in those around me, I have personally experienced my own mental health struggles, particularly in high school. While I am not unique in my experiences, I find comfort that I am not alone and I aim to give an empathetic perspective to anyone in need of care.Specialties: counseling, time management, organizational skills, collaboration
