Assistant Manager Job DescriptionOn The Narrows MarinaThe Manager is an employee who is responsible to plan, direct and overseethe daily operations and fiscal health of OTNM. The manager is responsiblefor leading and overseeing the office crew and the dock crew at OTNM. Themanager is also responsible for working with the Owners of OTNMin planning and maintaining work systems, procedures and policies that enable andencourage the optimum performance of employees.Reports To: OwnersPrimary Objectives of ManagerHealth and safety of the workforceCarrying out and attaining the mission and the goals of OTNMDevelopment of a superior workforceDevelopment of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality,continuous improvement, key employee retention & development, andhigh performance.Personal ongoing developmentPrimary Responsibilities of an Assistant ManagerConsciously create a workplace culture that emphasizes the identified mission,vision, guiding principles and values of the organization.Lead employees to meet OTNM’s expectations for productivity, quality, andgoal accomplishment.Help plan and implement consistent training of all employees.Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards,and when necessary, disciplinary action, with the assistance of OTNM owners.Maintain employee training and work schedules.Maintain transparent communication.Plan, evaluate and work with the General Manager & OTNM ownership toimprove the efficiency or business processes & procedures to enhancequality, speed, efficiency and output.Make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiableand defensible in accordance with the policies and procedures of OTNM.Communicate regularly with other managers and the ownership of OTNM.Come to the weekly meeting with goals, feedback from the week, anda plan for the upcoming week.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
