With asset-based trucking there is always money but there is always overhead. With brokering you can limit overhead to salaries and some software. Which is why the industry is so competitive. I came in and helped them start a brokerage arm of their company. I helped hire a few individual brokers and train them in the persistence, care, and dedication it takes to not only acquire new customers but maintain them.

From check calls to prospect list building to negotiating with trucks and track and trace. To me this felt over complicated and decreased efficiency.
