As a member of the USPS OIG legal team, and then its Director, I provided a broad range of legal advice to advance the mission of the office, namely, the prevention and detection of fraud, waste, and misconduct and the promotion of efficiency and effectiveness in USPS programs. I provided transactional legal advice concerning the laws and regulations governing the USPS, ongoing audits, and the day-to-day business of the OIG including, for example, contracting and employment-related matters. When the need arose, I also provided advice focused on dispute resolution, including litigation. In all this, I renderd legal service with an eye to integrity, good government, and solutions for my clients.

I led the firm’s Trusts and Estates practice, which under my leadership took a client-focused approach to Estate Planning in order to ensure that each plan embodied the client’s values and responds to the client’s unique financial and familial circumstances. In addition to Estate Planning, my Trusts and Estates practice included estate administration and litigation of estate-related disputes. I was also a member of the firm’s Business Litigation practice team. My work with this team included work in connection with business break-ups, unfair competitive practices, trade secrets disputes, and disagreements with regulatory and administrative agencies.

As a legal entrepreneur, I am able to set the tone and direction for my firm. Based on experience, training, and judgment, I decided to concentrate my practice on ● Government Contracts ● Business & Commercial Litigation ● General Counsel Serivces ● Estate Planning & Administration In each of these areas, I seek to distinguish myself by providing astute legal counsel with a focus on individualized solutions that get the details right for each client’s unique situation.

For seven and a half enjoyable years, I provided a diverse range of legal services vital to the operations of the LSC OIG, a federal office of inspector general situated within a D.C. nonprofit corporation established and funded by Congress. During my tenure with the office, I advocated successfully on behalf of the Inspector General with a range of stakeholders, played a significant role in mission-critical litigation efforts, took the lead on legal issues arising in the OIG's contracting actitivies, and provided timely legal advice in the context of ongoing audits and investigations. I also successfully represented the OIG's interests in formal rulemaking proceedings and participated in both the formulation of internal policies and in strategic decision making. In sum, I acted as a general resource to facilitate the mission of the LSC OIG and to support the production of professional work product that reflected well on the office.I am proud of my service and will always have fond memories of my time at the LSC OIG.

As an attorney in the Disclosure Unit, I worked with whistleblowers and offices of inspector general throughout the federal government to inquire into suspected wrongdoing by government officials and to ensure that adequate remedial measures were implemented where suspected wrongdoing could be substantiated. I drafted reports for issuance to the President and Congress analyzing the agency responses to disclosures of wrongdoing and recommending further actions as appropriate.

As an associate in the litigation department of Goodwin Procter LLP, I was heavily involved in pre-trial practice, drafting pleadings, memoranda, briefs, and other civil litigation materials addressing a wide range of substantive and procedural issues. I conducted extensive pre-trial discovery in complex commercial litigation and represented clients implicated in government investigations.
