Equine Farrier/blacksmith Services: • As a farrier I use a variety of tools such as rasps and nippers to trim and shape a horse’s hooves. • Carefully evaluate every horse’s conformation, gait, and hoof balance in order to determining what balancing adjustments are to be made.• Specialize in corrective trimming and shoeing through proper balancing of hoof angles and corrective shoe in order to change the angle of the foot and lower limbs and promote correct growth.• Use a wide variety of shoes in different sizes, weights, and designs as prescribed to help or correct the horse’s conformation as suitable for its workload and job discipline. • Adjust, reshape, and apply horseshoes to the hoof as required. • Horses generally require trimming every six to eight weeks to maintain proper balance of the foot and lower limbs.• Provide consultation to horse owner & clients for recommendations on hoof care products, feeding, supplements, fly sprays, and equipment.• Physically fit as a farrier I must be able to stand for long periods while bending and lifting a horse’s legs.
