My main focus at Staples is selling office supply products to customers and pushing metrics including app sign-ups, protection plans, and driving to increase Staples's income. I also work on displays for the store to keep the store stocked with merchandise to ensure we can increase our sales and exceed last year's sales goal.

My role within TTI varied between two different jobs, one of the roles was finding the product that hasn't been stocked yet so specific purchase orders could be fulfilled. My other job would be to stock boxes that needed to be on the shipping truck. This required me to work at a fast pace to make sure the merchandise could move to the next process so the order pickers could get the product shipped off that night. We would have weekly shift meetings within my department to ensure we are getting our job done efficiently. We would communicate what wasn't working and problem-solve a solution as a team.

I got promoted by our General Manager from a Sales Associate to Operations Supervisor. This would be a big jump in authority at the store leaving me as the third person in command. I was in charge of everything within the store when it came to making sure we had the product and supplies we needed to keep the store running. I would receive the truck and sort through it for my associates to stock the product. After we finished the truck I would check to see what products or supplies we weren't getting shipped in, request to get items shipped to us, and also prepare the returns truck to come to pick up our excess pallets and unneeded product.This role also meant I was a Supervisor and had to team-build and train my new and current associates to learn exactly what I needed from them. I created processes so my associates could easily comprehend and perform what needed to be completed in anything they did. Being a Supervisor required me to talk to customers when there was a serious issue whether that be someone being upset or diffusing a situation. I would provide the best possible solution so everyone left the store satisfied with what they needed. I also had to learn how to open and close the store and operate our cash office on a daily basis.

My main focus as a Sales Associate was on selling and assisting customers on the sales floor using customer service skills. I would also be a cashier or work on the freight we got in on the truck when it was needed.I also started working 40 hours a week to help in our Print & Marketing department to assist customers in creating and placing print orders. This was a very stressful position being the main person that would help customers who tended to be very demanding needing prints done ASAP. This led to me learning how to remain calm and work under a lot of pressure.
