As the Sailing representative, I spearheaded the organization of sailing excursions, overseeing all communication channels between committee members and club associates fostering transparent and comprehensive communication among peers.My responsibilities extended to meticulously arranging sailing trip for the year, and securing timely bus bookings well in advance, ensuring seamless logistical operations.As the Financial Planner, I devised budgetary plans for all expeditions, encompassing expenditures such as fuel, accommodation, food, and vessel maintenance, including requisite boat repairs. Additionally, I encouraged fundraising initiatives through collaboration with our events coordinator.My overarching objective was to safeguard the club's financial health, ensuring that operational costs were effectively managed to prevent any losses while simultaneously guaranteeing the smooth execution of all planned outings.Rhodes Sailing team came 3rd place at USSA 2023, with UCT and Stellenbosch taking 1st and 2nd, respectively, followed by other universities in the subsequent positions.
