Manage portfolio of over 80 litigated defendant claims in road traffic disputes across all case management tracks, including personal injury, credit hire and costs. Primary focus is to mitigate insurer client’s exposure, maximise savings and provide robust representation for policyholder and a positive claims experience.Daily functions include prioritization of tasks, conferencing with clients, formulating comprehensive case plans, analysing medical evidence and drafting a range of documents, viz. statements of case, statements of costs, applications, Part 35 requests and instructions to counsel and experts. Further responsibilities include being a referral point for complex cases within and outside the unit, managing relationships with other departments and an emergency contact for enforcement cases. I consistently receive positive feedback for these roles and am considered a knowledgeable and reliable contact.In addition to my workload, I am a representative for the Corporate Responsibility team, distributing information and arranging events for charity and raising awareness. I am also a Champion for the People’s Charter for Claims Technical & Central Services, specially to increase engagement and improve communication across departments.

Worked with senior counsel and other experienced colleagues, on cases including personal injury, clinical negligence, trust, land, contract and data protection. Attended multiple client conferences including claims against the Gibraltar Health Authority, appeared as advocate in case management hearings and shadowed in interlocutory and appeal hearings.

Immediately after finishing my Bar and Accredited Mediator courses, I began employment with the multi-national insurer, AXA. Started working in Claimant team and moved to Defendant within 3 months, thereafter working hard to develop case handling skills and knowledge of civil procedure to take on more complex and higher value cases.Portfolio consisted of personal injury, hire, MOJ and costs claims.
