I research the effects of rare genetic variants on neurodevelopment, cognition, and psychiatric outcomes. Currently, I work as a Research Specialist in the Mulle Lab at Rutgers University's Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine, where I conduct clinical interviews, design and implement novel study designs, perform data analysis, and author scientific research articles focused on the 3q29 deletion, a genetic disorder associated with Autism, ADHD, and schizophrenia. I also conduct clinical interviews for a large genetics study through the Psychiatry Department of Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, which focuses on understanding the genetics of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder in underserved minority groups. Prior to joining the Mulle Lab team, I conducted research in the Pennsylvania State Hospital network under the direction of Co-PI's Richard Josiassen and Patrick Sullivan, with a focus on understanding the genetic architecture of treatment-resistant psychosis. Additionally, we conducted pharmaceutical trials aimed at improving symptoms of antipsychotic-induced Tardive Dyskinesia, and piloted a novel study design combining in vivo and in vitro (iPSC cortical organoids) electrophysiological data.I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Temple University in Philadelphia, and hope to pursue graduate school in the near future.
