My expertise and passion lie where real estate, decarbonization, and innovation intersect with the private and public sectors. I am adept at defining strategy, executing it to achieve results, and building and leading teams that provide organizations with lasting value. In my current role as Senior Vice President at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, a 6.5M SF industrial campus owned by the City of New York, I oversee the team charged with real estate development, decarbonization and sustainability efforts, and piloting new technology. My team’s real estate work has included redevelopment and lease-up of large historic buildings, buildout of industrial and office spaces, and leases of waterfront assets. Our tenants include commercial office, life science, food production, industrial assembly and fabrication, a shipyard with three active dry docks, the largest movie and TV studio east of Hollywood, a large-scale events venue, and a natural gas and steam cogeneration power plant. Our decarbonization efforts are wide and varied, and have consisted of sourcing, negotiating, and signing a term sheet for an offshore wind developer to establish an O&M port at a BNY dry dock; negotiating and executing a lease with a large-scale BESS developer; and procuring an EV vendor to install charging stations across our campus. In addition, our team is managing the Yard’s compliance with Local Laws 84, 87 and 97, and developing a comprehensive decarbonization strategy that will reduce the Yard’s embodied and operational carbon footprint. Finally, my team manages Yard Labs, BNY’s piloting program. By providing a 300-acre urban testbed in the heart of New York City, we give climate tech, circular economy and smart city start-ups a path to market validation. We are deploying pilots in fields including EV charging, drone inspections, underwater robotics, sensors that monitor building performance, greywater collection, carbon capture, and battery storage.My previous roles have included development and asset management of large retail properties at Acadia Realty Trust; development of a real estate strategy for Tiffany & Co’s global fleet of stores; and five years of structuring City capital investments at the New York City Economic Development Corporation.
