Specialization in the safety inspections of 45 Army vessels; thorough working knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations, American Bureau of Shipping, National Fire Protection Association, Safety of Life a Sea and Environmental Protection Agency and US Coast Guard maritime regulations. Ultimately responsible for all the department’s administrative processes as well as the accountability and serviceability of over $12 million of assigned property. Tracking of all vessel movements within a port or sea movements.

Chief Mate onboard the U.S. Army Vessel MG Charles P. Gross, (LSV-5), a $24.3 million, 273-foot long ocean-going Logistics Support Vessel, the largest of U.S. Army watercraft. Assisted the commander in all aspects of vessel operations to ensure self-sustainability in worldwide operations. Responsibilities include ship handling, navigation, firefighting, damage control, emergency medical treatment, onboard weapon systems, cargo upload and unloading operations, and management of subsistence/voyage funds. Oversaw the conduct, employment and safety of 31 crew members while underway, in port and around the world. Coordinated with host countries, embassy teams, customs officials, port managers and foreign militaries for compliance with all diplomatic, safety, security and environmental requirements prior to entry. Responsible for knowledge of and compliance with United States Codes and Regulations as well as Local laws, USCG Regulations, U.S. Army Environmental Regulations and all other aspects of maritime law.

Maritime Operations Officer responsible for planning and synchronizing high level sea operations, activates, and functions of 17 ocean-going US Army vessels. Provides advisory services on watercraft operations, readiness, policy and regulation. Subject matter expert in assembling, evaluating and maintaining critical data to support sea missions. Commanded all aspects of vessel operations to ensure self-sustainability in worldwide operations. Responsibilities include ship handling, navigation, firefighting, damage control, emergency medical treatment, onboard weapon systems, cargo upload and unloading operations, and management of subsistence/voyage funds. Oversaw the conduct and safety of 15 crew members and passengers while underway, in port and around the world. Coordinated with host countries, embassy teams, customs officials, port managers and foreign militaries for compliance with all diplomatic, safety, security and environmental requirements prior to entry. Responsible for knowledge of and compliance with United States Codes and Regulations as well as Local laws, USCG Regulations, U.S. Army Environmental Regulations and all other aspects of maritime law.

Third Mate onboard the U.S. Army Vessel MG Charles P. Gross, (LSV-5), a $24.3 million, 273-foot long ocean-going Logistics Support Vessel, the largest of U.S. Army watercraft. Performed the role of Food Service Officer, oversaw the management of the vessel's galley, ensured all meals were properly prepared and served and in compliance with all regulations and sanitation standards. Assisted the Commander in ensuring the training, health, welfare, safety, and discipline of a 31-person crew. Performed duties as Officer of the Watch in charge of the vessel's safe navigation for eight hours a day. Direct report to the executive officer to ensure all aspects of cargo operations, vessel security, and medical support was accomplished safely and to ship standards. Additional officer level responsibilities and activities included weapons; arms room; chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense; mail; key control; medical; and alternate billing official.

Diving Supervisor and Team Leader responsible for the training, operations, welfare, and readiness of a worldwide deployable dive team.
