Leading and Managing: Senior Leader within R&D at Tracerco with responsibility for contributing to department management and strategy, program managing early stage NPI projects, and directly managing and setting strategy for the Innovation and Physics Teams.Process Owner: Designed and implemented cutting edge, stage gated innovation process that incorporates Design Thinking Principles and Strategyzer Tools. My new evidence based approach has increased throughput and reduced wasted resource and direct spend.Focus and Culture: My approach has shifted the R&D department’s decision making process away from predominant focus on technical feasibility, and placed far greater emphasis on customer desirability and commercial viability.Internal Collaboration: Responsible for working with internal customers and senior stakeholders to develop innovation and technology roadmaps, and to establish the priority order for R&D according to business needs.External Relations and Open Innovation: Responsible for establishing and managing relationships with commercial partners, industrial specialists, academic subject matter experts, and identifying sources of external funding for innovation work.

Designed and implemented a data driven project to reduce waiting lists and increase patient flow for a large NHS trust by significantly improving the planning and preparation approach of community teams. This approach embraced the ‘more with the same’ principle.This project delivered annualised savings of more than £1.6 million, facilitated a culture change in 38 teams over 24 weeks, and provided a case study for Meridian to generate future work.

Strategic Business Project partnered with Atom Bank, one of the UK's leading challenger banks. Conducted research to help Atom understand how US banks are generating value using big data and AI approaches.

Research architect and principle author of a Business Innovation Research Grant (SBIR) worth $2.7 million for Recursion Pharmaceuticals (then startup company, now a unicorn).Managed the academic/industry collaboration and identified a leading commercial indicator, and augmented Recursion’s automated, big data, target agnostic approach to capitalise on the opportunity and establish early advantage for Recursion in a brand new market.

Managed the project team tasked with determining the commercial viability of a state of the art technology for use with a complex physiological model.Spent time working with Descartes University in Paris as part of an ongoing collaboration between Northwestern University and a consortium of world leading universities in physiology.

During my doctoral studies I regularly lectured to classes in excess of 100 students. I also worked as both a Research Associate (RA) and Teaching Assistant (TA).
