As an electrical tester I am in charge of testing electrical harnesses for rolling stock vehicles by the means of, continuity testing, flash testing and ATE testing so I can provide the customer with a reliable, safe and defect free train.On finding a fault within the harness it is then my job to repair the fault before re-testing and passing the item as safe. All aspects of electrical wiring on trains is tested thoroughly so that no problems will arise.

In my current role I repair and repaint of all aspects of bodywork on vehicles (varying sizes) both interior and exterior. I manage my own van and accounts dealing directly with customers in both the private and commercial sectors. This means I am in charge of maintaining my own mobile work place, ensuring it is well organized to enable me to complete any job efficiently. I also take pride in my work ensuring all jobs are completed to a high quality. To do this I have added quality gates in my work, inspection points to ensure the job is progressing as expected and to the high quality I expect.Some of the customers have strict health and safety site rules where all our COSHH sheets are to hand if we ever need them.I have learned to adapt my communication skills ensuring all my customers are happy ensuring they will call me again if needed ensuring I have repeat business.I also manage all my own money and invoicing which requires a level of diligence to ensure all paperwork is correct and completed on time

I worked on the production of new motorcycles being built to order. This would start with a bare frame working it up to a complete motorcycle, meaning I had to be familiar with all aspects of the motorcycle to work on any part. The build could include any impromptu design modifications that would need carrying out. Final inspection and testing would also be carried out on completed bikes to make sure they are up to Euro 5 standards but also safe to ride. Mapping the complete motorcycles and dyno testing them through a series of engine phases would also be completed under this role. Also designing and building electronic looms to fit various bikes and frames taking into account heat stresses from the engine
