- 10+ years of “hands on” technical modeling and leading teams of modelers in support of engineering simulation (CFD) and physical wind tunnel testing. Spanning hundreds of projects ranging from city master planning to laboratory ventilation, and everything in between.- 10+ years experience working remotely for a firm headquartered in another country (Canada) and with teams spread across the globe.- 3D CAD: Extensive Rhino/Grasshopper experience with a deep knowledge of data interop between Rhino/Revit/Solidworks/AutoCAD with a particular interest in geometry repair and simplification.- 3D DCC: Comfortable transferring 3D models in/out of DCC packages such as Houdini, 3ds Max, and Sketchup.- 3D CAE: Extensive knowledge of geometry pre-processing for engineering simulation. Fluent in the geometry requirements of mainstream CAE packages like Star-CCM+, OpenFOAM, and ANSA.- GIS: Practical experience processing governmental/municipal data layers including LiDAR sources.- API / SDK: Fluent in RhinoCommon (C#/F# & Python). Practical experience with Revit/AutoCAD APIs. Familiar with VEX & the hou python module.- Automation: Implemented, maintained and documented automation tools and best practice guidelines used by dozens of technical modelers across multiple regional offices. With a particular focus interdisciplinary geometry processing pipelines.- Procedural / Computational modeling: Extensive experience using Grasshopper to solve complex modeling tasks within compressed production timelines. Practical experience with geometry processing in Houdini (VEX & HDA authoring).- Seasoned multitasker, accustomed to working across disciplines and within multiple teams. - Attention to detail: Experience modeling under exacting engineering guidelines & QA/QC procedures in collaboration with Professional Engineers and Architects.- Committed considerable time to onboarding and mentoring junior staff for the success of the team.- ML exposure: contributed to tooling for the mining of extensive proprietary engineering CAD data in addition to supporting the generation of various synthetic datasets.- Current research interest is near the intersection of procedural modeling, real-time visualization and CAD. In particular the interplay between Houdini (PDG), Unreal (via Houdini Engine), Omniverse (USD) and Rhino/GH.
