• Reporting and presentation from initial assessments to final designs.• Technical inputs leading to construction solutions.• Programme and project management.• Project strategy creation and guidance.• Plan and undertake site investigations in and alongside waterways• Representation of the company at client meetings.• Production of documents including: site findings, outline reports, development of design solutions, proposals and cost estimates.• Client liaison throughout project life – including providing advice in-line with Cain Bio Engineering and legislative standards, receiving and communicating instructions, managing detailed design and gaining approval of quotations to agreed timescales• Liaison with the Environment Agency , Natural England and other statutory bodies, submission of proposals to gain Flood Defence Consent approval.• Assisting with programme management. General assistance for the operations team; including obtaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, production of utility packs, producing bills of quantities from drawings, preparation of construction cost estimates, project and installation supervision• Production of high quality technical drawings.• Ensuring that work meets all relevant legislative standards including Health & Safety and environmental requirements.• Other general duties as required

Tasked with running a series of small scale fish easement and natural flood defence projects. Scope of projects included;• Baffle and flow deflector installation• Small scale fish pass creation• In-stream gabion construction and securing• Eel pass creation including the use natural materials and pre formed passes• Debris deflector design and construction• Several flood easement projects, which included walkover surveys to identify and pinpoint works to be undertaken; including bankside planting and stabilisation, wetland creation, LWD installation and the use of willow screens as sediment filters.• Site surveys & analysis/formalising designs • Implementing project installation• Writing method statements/Health and safety forms/Risk assessments • Flood Defence Consent applications • Liaising with landowners and statutory bodies (to gain permissions for work); • Project management

Working for the Northern District Salmon Fisheries Board to protect and enhance stocks of wild Atlantic salmon Salmo salar by assisting in the delivery of fisheries science, management and enforcement programmes.Duties involved; • Catchment management and research • Habitat surveys and electro-fishing; • Maintaining stringent records of all activities undertaken (including times/dates); Preparing written reports; • Repairs to the river banks, styles and fences; • Anti-poaching patrols on the River Naver and off-shore boat patrols.
