As a mentor and brand ambassador in the Office of the Western Cape Children's Commissioner, I played a key role in representing and advocating for the office’s mission to safeguard children’s rights. My responsibilities included assisting with the development and management of social media content and contributing to video production initiatives, all aimed at raising awareness and engaging the public in the commission’s objectives. Through these efforts, I worked to amplify the voice of the office across platforms, creating impactful content that supported both educational outreach and public engagement.I provided essential administrative support to staff and offered technical assistance during online sessions with Child Governance Monitors (CGMs), ensuring smooth communication and effective engagement across all platforms.

As a Child Government Monitor in the Western Cape Commissioner for Children’s Office, I ensure that child welfare standards are met and monitor government practices to support children’s health, safety, and education. I help make sure policies and services align with legal standards, advocating for a safe and supportive environment for all children.As part of my role as a Child Government Monitor, I actively contributed to formal submissions presented to both national and provincial legislatures. This experience involved engaging directly with high-ranking government officials across various political parties to address critical issues impacting children. Through these interactions, I provided input on policies, voiced concerns from the perspective of young people, and worked toward advocating for the rights and needs of children in legislative processes.
