SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services: Currently designing/developing ASP.Net web application with VB.Net to add some extra flexibility to Take Care’s ability to display benchmark and metric data to their clients. This data has been aggregated for a very large hospital client base and, until now, they have relied primarily on SQL Reporting Services which has many limitations. The web application I am building integrates a great deal of AJAX to support the concept of dragging optional fields from a list onto a report result set in order to support dynamic reporting that is more robust for end users than Reporting Services

Logistics Technology Support: Lead database architect and web developer on project for the US Coast Guard to design and develop database-driven applications for management of Reliability Centered Maintenance Information. Developed applications in VB.Net and SQL 2005 with Reporting Services. Responsible for documenting process workflows, designing a robust database architecture, and developing the software that will integrate with the new centralized database. These activities improve maintenance procedures by standardizing lists for data reliability, providing the ability to search using an expanded attributes list, identifying invalid or expired documents, and revealing patterns in equipment failure.

Contract: DManaged a team that developed a state DOT project which incorporated GIS to automate the permit process for crossing interstates and highways. Utilized ASP.Net, GIS elements and AJAX functionality for a robust, professional product that was rolled out to other departments of transportation. esigned and developed DTS packages on a SQL 2000 database that automated and significantly improved extract, transform and load (ETL) processes.

I came on board with HealthStream to assist with a major database migration. All of their customers had been moved from HealthStream’s former database architecture to a newer and much better architecture. As a result, all processes, reports, DTS packages, and historical data needed to be recreated or imported into the new database with the new architecture in mind. I worked with five other DBA’s to keep the customers happy by upholding contractual obligations on guaranteeing the new database continued to supply all that was required from the old one as well as even more precise data that we were not able to supply with the older architecture.

Two SQL Servers supported a large suite of web and desktop applications that were developed in ASP.Net, VB.Net, Classic ASP, Visual Basic, and Access. One of the SQL Servers was running SQL Server 2000 and the other was running SQL Server 2005. I am extremely familiar with both of these database engines and their capabilities. I have worked heavily in both Enterprise Manager and Query Analyzer when working with our SQL 2000 & 2005 Servers. I have designed and implemented all data transfer processes that we had enabled and I maintained and/or enhanced these processes. I designed the initial database schemas using Visio 2003 for Enterprise Architects. I trained employees on ASP.Net, VB.Net, and C# software development, SQL database architecture and administration. I also developed several windows applications that communicated with 3rd party web services.
