I joined this campus sustainability project in 2022 and applied for our work to become a lasting campus organization. BU Community Gardens now manages four spaces in the campus area, teaching students low input and low cost urban agriculture techniques.

At CHP my responsibilities included assisting the farm team with everyday tasks, and lead volunteer groups. Day to day work included extensive manual labor as well as significant community interaction. CHP is a model organization for local community gardening, sustainability, and hunger relief.

In the Summer of 2019, I had the opportunity to intern at my Congressman’s office in Worcester, MA. I was able to meet hardworking individuals who devote their lives to helping others in difficult situations in the greater Worcester community. While working at the office, I assisted caseworkers with cases ranging from Veterans Affairs to Medicare and immigration cases. Not only did the internship allow me to aid those in my local community, but the stories of the individuals I dealt with have inspired me to take a different look at these issues which affect Americans every day. I am incredibly grateful for the unique experience of working directly with constituents regarding their cases.

In the winter and spring of 2019, I worked as a tutor in the Great Brook Valley public housing projects in Worcester, MA. The work was gratifying, allowing me to meet children who came from many diverse backgrounds. While I was tutoring, I was able to see that the students truly were learning, and I loved to see the difference I was making in their education.
