I have settled on athletic counseling being a potential career path, and swimming has helped guide that decision tremendously. Athlete well-being is one of the biggest emerging issues in the world. As an athlete myself, being able to relate to other athletes who may be going through similar distress that I once felt throughout my swimming career is a feeling that I am longing for. This led me to my interest in becoming an athletic counselor, because of my desire to help athletes. At Springfield College, I have had the opportunity to not only take engaging classes and practice my skills in the classroom, but also apply my knowledge outside of the classroom in the form of co-facilitating workshops with other collegiate teams, and my potential future one on one sessions.
