Performed design calculations per all national, state and other applicable building codes in a timely and efficient manner for the construction of new structures and renovation of existing industrial buildings. Adjusted designs to meet unforeseen client requirements, to avoid field obstructions and meet client-preferred vendor specification of readily available materials while maintaining all deadlines, budgets, building code and strict USDA requirements. Assisted other Engineers and Project Managers as needed to meet time requirements or temporary absences. Directed design personnel of all skill levels for creation of drawing packages. Specific examples included:• Design of structural and stainless steel structures encompassing systems such as tank maintenance towers, monorail lifts, ceiling hangers/floor mounts for belt conveyors, catwalks and vibratory conveyors, roof joist/girder/framing modifications for added lift, hanger and HVAC loads.• Design of reinforced concrete foundations and containment walls for steel platform and steel tanks.• Use of metric sizes where required. Adherence to extreme design constraints (e.g. maximum deflection ratio of L/27800, very low temperature concrete cure times of less than 24 hours, USDA requirements for continued facility operation throughout constructions, etc.).

Reduced corporate third party engineering expenses through a variety of strategic, self-directed measures with minimal new asset expenditure. Established strong working relationships with third party support Engineers and Truss plant design employees of all levels. As the sole corporate Engineer, accomplished engineering tasks in support of the 250 United Building (now ProBuild) Centers and their subsidiaries. These included:• Earned 16 Profession Engineer (PE) licenses in addition to existing WI PE license within 15 months.• Determined and obtained respective required State Certificates of Authorization to compliment Certificates of Authority.• Served as Engineer in Responsible Charge for Corporation in several States.• Recognized as internal expert on truss repairs. Established and implemented an efficient company protocol for the electronic submittal and automated tracking of truss repair requests.• Implemented electronic PE seals and digital signatures meeting all respective ICC 2006 and specific State requirements for such documents. Continually evaluated repair requests for potential transfer to a third party where appropriate.• Created immediate savings to Timber Roots MTD (now ProBuild) Plants through the preparation of repair calculations, drawings and electronically secure, sealed and signed documents for thin metal plate connected wood trusses.• Designed and sized unique building components of steel, concrete, wood or masonry (e.g. connections, hangers, beams, columns, footings, etc.) to eliminate costly reconstruction and construction delays.
