As a senior finance major at Florida Atlantic University, I have a deep understanding and passion about the finance industry and what it can hopefully bring me as a career. The classes I have taken at FAU, along with the learning I’ve done on my own, has enabled me to have a great knowledge of financial concepts and the technical aspects involved as well. I am looking to become either a CFA or a CFP, and I am hopeful that I will be able to accomplish this. I believe I have the skills, both technical and interpersonal, that will allow me to succeed in my journey to becoming a CFA/CFP. The finance industry is always looking for people with a specific set of skills that I happen to possess. For one, I have used excel for years, and have a complete understanding of it. Secondly, I have worked several jobs where I have been put in stressful situations and have been asked to lead or take over situations. Lastly, I have also been asked to train people at previous jobs, which I think can come in handy when explaining difficult concepts to my clients. All of these skills, including leadership, Excel, and diffusing stressful situations I feel will definitely contribute to me having a successful financial career. I’m hopeful in the next few months I can get an internship at a financial corporation to grasp what having a career in finance will be like. I’m a very determined person who will learn fast and provide the skills I have picked up along the way. I am adaptable, tech-savy, determined, a great multi-tasker, and a great leader as well.
