Teaching in the graduate architecture program: Design Leadership - Creating a culture of innovation and fostering entrepreneurship in the built environment

Creative lab 3 is a design and research platform focusing on architecture, writing, and photography to catalyze and shape ideas and research that inspire change and transform our collective future.

As a Partner at KieranTimberlake, I designed places, buildings, and environments; I hired and directed teams, connected people with ideas, and created new methods and platforms for thinking and making. I combined my interest in design, computation, and technology with a deep understanding of connecting people, programs, and design aspirations in the firm's most significant and impactful projects, including iconic, institution-defining architecture, to small homes with big ideas. Notable completed projects include the award-winning Paulson Center at New York University, the Embassy of the United States in London, and Cellophane House™ featured at the Museum of Modern Art. Most recently, OpenHome, a high-performing, offsite fabricated house product and design system developed to Passive House and International Living Futures Institute Zero Carbon standards, developed in partnership with Bensonwood Homes. Collaborating with my partners, I shaped and executed the firm's strategic direction, including co-authoring our strategic plan in 2012 and 2017. Critical components were the evolution of design culture, new work selection and acquisition, and our strategy to hire, train, and grow exceptional staff. I also chaired the KT Digital Design Visioning Group, helping foster digital innovation, visualization, and knowledge sharing throughout the firm. In 2012, I led the effort to rebuild the firm's approach and mindset to digital design in architecture. A design culture built on continuous learning, space for persistent experimentation, elevating discourse, digital literacy, and the creation of novel tools and methods.

Taught graduate level research design studio as part of the School of Design
