About Matthew Lorentz
I am a client-focused professional with over 15 years of combined volunteer and employment experience working in the Not-for-profit sector supporting clients with a focus on non-judgmental partner development/stewardship, case management, and fostering accessible and inclusive resources to help strengthen communities. I am a collaborative relationship builder with proven experience training, leading, and developing teams of staff/volunteers.I have been an Outreach Coordinator with the CNIB's Come to Work Program for the past 3 years and have developed relationships with employer partners and the sight loss community alike. During this time I took the initiative and requested to be the point person when developing the Come to Work Microsite. My role on this project was to coordinate between internal and external teams and ensure a transparent flow of information between them. This project helped develop my project management skills.Previous to this role I have gained skills in Assistive Technology through the Phone it Forward Program Coordinator role, seen on my resume. This gave me my first team lead experience, as I was responsible for co-developing and leading the Tech-Mate program. The Tech-Mate program matched a team of volunteers with CNIB participants looking for assistance.I used my experience in the Phone it Forward program to Co-Found the Android Accessibility Users Group; a Zoom room created for people to troubleshoot their concerns navigating Android devices. My Co-Founder and I came up with this idea because we assessed a market inefficiency surrounding assistance for Android Users with sight loss.I look forward to my next opportunity where I can develop all of the above skills and learn new ones along the way.
Listed skills include Leadership, Nonprofit Organizations, Microsoft Office, Social Services, and 11 others.

I move the digital world forward by working with leading brands to improve their digital accessibility. The feedback that I provide, impacts the lives of the 1.3 billion people around the world who live with disabilities.I complete ‘self-guided’ or, unmoderated, research requests, in which I record testing task flows. These recordings are used to help inform companies with accessibility and usability insights.I participate in ‘user Interview’ requests (moderated research requests) where I’m interviewed by researchers or specialists in the field while performing specific task flows. These recorded interviews are used to help identify new issues with a product related to its accessibility and usability.I provide written feedback on the compatibility and accessibility of user journeys within customer digital properties across assistive technologies, devices and browsers. These are captured in compatibility tests, which are unmoderated research requests. This written feedback is used to help guide companies with their accessibility efforts across their digital products.During compatibility tests I use reading comprehension skills to follow step by step instructions in a precise way. I use critical thinking and written communications skills to provide accessibility and usability feedback. I'm an expert at using my assistive technology and have the technical skills to execute product flowsAs part of my role, I complete Prototype Reviews, which are moderated research requests in which I'm interviewed by researchers or specialists to test digital product prototypes.
