In 2016 I led my first project, removing iron from a groundwater well by implementing electrocoagulation in a bead filter. The project was a success. During this time, I was also working on my senior design project at LSU, where our group's project revolved around redesigning the ShadeBall technology to include a treatment and sustainability element. We competed in the 2016 International Environmental Design Competition, where our group ranked the highest from LSU. Later in 2016 I worked on an aquaponics project out in Colorado. The project focused on bringing healthier food into what is considered a food desert. More info at Coloradoaquaponics.com. In 2017 I was assigned to oversee an aquaponics installation in North Dakota. During my time in graduate school at LSU I worked with Dr. Malone on a patent lawsuit with the state of Florida. The project was handed to me under the supervision of Dr. Malone where my role was to conduct a literature review and prove that the proposed treatment process was based on prior art and did not infringe on any patents. The job was successful. I received my Engineering in Training certification in 2018. I was invited to give a 15-minute presentation in Las Vegas at the World Aquaculture Society (WAS) conference in 2018 and again in 2019. My talk was on cleaning up water and removing suspended solids by combined use of bead filtration and foam fractionation and Theoretical Modeling of the Effectiveness of a Static Granular Plastic Media Bed on Removing Turbidity respectively. The latter was also the topic of my Thesis for my Master’s Degree. I graduated with my Master’s in Civil Engineering from LSU in 2019. Currently I am managing a 500k+ research project raising intensively stocked shrimp systems. My role is to hire and directly manage around 4 – 5 workers, assure the quality of the data collection and analysis, writing up the results, and helping design a filtration product based off of the information gathered.
