I've worked as a paramedic in a host of rural and urban settings dealing with diverse ages and ethnic backgrounds in emergency prehospital care for a number of years before moving into an educational role as a university lecturer. In these roles have found a use for many communicational approaches whilst engaging with all members of multi-disciplinary teams. Dealing with emergencies in the pre-hospital environment takes effective leadership and management and quick advanced clinical decision making skills that I am passionate about teaching people new to the role all about. I am very fortunate to be involved in such a dynamic team here at the university who are all actively engaged in pushing the boundaries of emergency healthcare education forward to meet the ever growing demands placed on practitioners.
