I am a Staff Software Engineer at Google, working in backend infrastructure for the Knowledge Graph.Before that, I was a graduate research assistant in the Department of Computer Science at Rice University. My research was in the application of formal methods to robotic motion planning, but my work involved the use of probabilistic algorithms, model checking, and simulation. Many of my implementations are included in the Open Motion Planning Library (http://ompl.kavrakilab.org), for which I was a core developer. My Master's thesis, titled "Temporal Logic Motion Planning in Partially Unknown Environments", was completed and defended in April 2013.In the past, I have conducted research in hybrid parallelization methods for particle simulations of Saturn's rings, while completing my Bachelor's in Computer Science at Trinity University. I switched research gears toward the end of my undergraduate career and wrote my Honors thesis, "On the State Hierarchy of Exploding Automata" in the area of theoretical computer science.
