Responsible for the investigation, evaluation, litigation and resolution of workers compensation claims. Predominately handle the specialty market of construction. Partner with both Defense Staff Counsel as well as outside counsel to properly build a defense against frivolous workers compensation filings. Responsible for evaluating claim values and settling files on a full disputed basis verse higher cost of continuing to defend when appropriate. Partner with other units within workers compensation department including the major case unit for high value claims, as well as medical management staff to limit lost time days on claims and return workers to full duty work in an expedient manner.
